I've just indulge with making and consuming a cake made with no-nos. I love lemony cakes.. whilst I figure I would be able to replace most ofthe ingredients with compliment ones.. such as self raising flour with spelt+baking powder+salt, sugar with veg glycerine.. what should I use in replace for the 6oz of butter it requires ? Has anyone been successful with using ghee ?
Also, with making of the syrup, it requires boiling castor sugar, lemon juice and water over fire for a few mins. Anyone tried something similar with veg glycerin ?
I just had some of the cake and I'm not feeling as good.. of course, I made it and I ate it.. so it serves me right
