Edna, my dear, you are SO lovely! And honestly, those pictures are a lot like I imagine you. So breathtaking and I'm so proud of you for putting them out there. It is weird at first huh? But it gets better. To paraphrase Kramer, I'm out there Jerry and I'm LOVING it!
Aren't we a goodlookin' bunch of BTD'ers?
(oh, and thanks for the words from yer ma. If she thinks my team is doing alright that is really saying something!! I'm proud o' my boys and hope they can hang on to this fragile lead in the west.)

LOL! U know how much I love, love, LOVE the sit-com Seinfeld. I still watch it in syndication and I still ROFLMBO at pretty much every moment of every episode. It is right up there with my fave TV show of all time, I Love Lucy, in my book.
As far as my pic being up, unexplained blob under the eye and all, yes, it IS weird to have it "out there" in cyberspace. Serenity now!

U know, I know you are joshin', but what's funny is, grass really is an avoid for me. I've posted before on the old board about how, as kids, both my sister and I would wake up with our eyes SEALED SHUT if we rolled around in newly mown grass the evening before. I'm talking, hermetically sealed shut with "sleep", those little thingys, only gone amok and sealing our lashes shut. To this day, when I mow my own lawn, I have a reaction, much milder (these days I don't roll around in it *L*). So, apparently, even topically, grass, at least the bahia variety, is a big avoid for me.

I've had real trouble loading these things & the pixelisation plus the duffness of the photos themselves make me look even plainer than I really do (which is saying something), but this is me & Joe last week in Rome. As you can see my hair is growing back nicely(!) but still has a way to go before it looks decent, and my eyebrows are a bit thin. Joe looks cute though. In the one pic we are carrying icecreams & granitas.
Hmph I think I might go to a photographer & get at least one decent pic of myself taken.

Sarah, for some reason, my impression was: If I saw her as a stranger on the street, I'd think, "she looks intelligent, kind, and funny!" (Not funny as in looks, funny as in, for some reason, I get a visual vibe from that photo that you have a good since of humor/keen wit, and sure enough, since you are not, in fact, a stranger on the street, I know that you DO).
Geez, you'd never know the physical ordeal you have recently gone through with the chemo and everything. Aren't our bodies amazing, the way they can take so much and be so forgiving?
In a nutshell, you look like the type of person I would gravitate towards, and sure enough, I have, without ever seeing you visually! As for Joe, tee hee, what a cutie, he looks just as I'd pictured him, amazingly! I'm psychic!

P.S. Joe looks a LOT like my little nephew, William (we're not allowed to call him Bill, Billy, Will, Willy or anything other than William, which seems terribly formal to me, but I digress). They are the same age.

Funnily enough, I thought you looked a lot like I imagine you too (albeit I know those pics are a bit old now). I'd love to see a more up-to-date one though.
it's funny how I can look at a picture of me & Joe & tell myself "that looks just like Joe but not like me - no way I look that old & plain". Logic would suggest if all the photos of Joe look like Joe then all the photos of me look like me. I should try looking at them in he mirror I guess, since that is how I am used to seeing myself!

Okay, take a memo: You do not look plain at all, nor do you look old. In fact, you look like a young mom-about-town! As far as the "plain" adjective, I don't get it: I think you have a very interesting face that, like I said, somehow exudes a lot of humor, intelligence, kindness and--I didn't say this before, but now's the moment--wisdom. To me, you don't look plain at all. Then again, I have a weird idea, apparently, of just what "average" or plain is. To me, certain celebrities who are considered the gold standard for beauty are hopelessly average and plain to me. People such as Robert Redford and Cheryl Tiegs (sp.?), to name two who are past the pin-up point now but were good examples of this in their day, to me are like Average/Plain City! You are not average. You look like someone who, if I were lost in the city, I would walk up to and ask for directions. You just have an intelligence and kindness about your countenance.

1. I just this moment noticed the second pic of you--DUH...was it there all along? Oh dear, speaking of old, I must be heading there, because how did I not notice that there is a second pic next to the first? Are my brain cells going or what? Don't answer that. Meanwhile, the second one only confirms the first: Kind, funny, smart, NOT old, NOT plain whatsoever unless plain equals interesting and exuding a wonderful aura.
2. No, you do NOT want to see a more recent pic of me. Or, more accurately, I do not want you or anyone to see a more recent pic of me *lol*. To quote Albie in "The Bird Cage":
"Don't look at me, I'm hideous!"
3. Thanks to your humongous pic, is it just me, or does everyone now have to scroll horizontally to read the messages. Sheesh, thanks a lot, Sarah .

I am on Lewis' #&*$#@$!!! toshiba laptop while he is doing some major reorganization to the iMac, but as soon as we get the scanner working again, I'll send a photo of the two of us.

I don't have to scroll, the picture fits, but I agree it is too big. If I knew how to make it smaller I would.
Now personally I did fancy Robert Redford though I preferred Paul Newman. Cheryl Tiegs I never had feelings for either way. But I know what you mean. Once past the early-teen "fancy any male hyped up to me" phase, I have often found that pin-up male film & pop stars left me cold while quite unlikely ones I secretly fancied usually because of their interesting expressive faces. Many woman film actresses I cannot recognise at all because they all look so alike & have such bland, regular features.

Just reading these old messages & saw Betsy's entry. What ever happened to Betsy & Lewis? Didn't they meet due to the BTD & then get married & sent us pictures? BTW Thomas, how do I get a picture to you? Someone took a picture of me on 2/9 when I got a cake for my chiro & receptionist. I had them e-mail it to me. When I tried to e-mail it to you, it didn't go thru. I'd like to add it to my "avatar" space...... Sea Salt & Light, Mrs "T" O+
